What is Bud Break?

Bud break is the start of the grape vine’s annual cycle. It is a relaxing time in the vine’s life as long as they don’t experience any intense weather occurrences, such as frost. Frost can kill the buds or delay their growth.

Check out what Bud Break looks like in Chile!.

Don’t forget - the Chilean harvest is right around the corner! Make sure to put in your order soon! The white grapes are estimated to harvest around March 15th (we are almost sold out of white grapes) and the red grapes should start harvesting around March 23rd.The 2023 Chilean growing season was hot and dry, with temperatures in the mid 90s. Not rain close to harvest, it is shaping up to be a vintage year. Grapes should roll in around 23-25 Brix.2023
