Soave - |
Outside the walled medieval town of Soave in the Veneto region of Northeast Italy one of Italy’s most popular white is produced. The town can be visited on the way from Venice to Verona and is accessible only through three gates, as the town is surrounded by walls.
Soave has become known as very much a bulk white of Italy because of the tendency for cooperatives in the region to focus on quantity as opposed to quality. However, in the hands of a home winemaker, a fine product can be produced. |
