South African and Chilean Harvest
Hello Winemakers,
We hope you and your families had a very Happy, Healthy New Year, and a prosperous fall crush! While your fall wines age and mature to perfection, it is time to start thinking about your South African and Chilean vintages.
The spring winemaking season is fast approaching and regardless of Covid-19, the MWG Crush Crew is here to provide you with the highest quality winemaking grapes, juices, equipment, and service. We know times are tough and winemaking is a time honored tradition which we all love and value. MWG is here to will make sure you preserve your tradition of making wine, even if it looks a little different this year. We are excited to help you make the best wine Chile and South Africa have to offer this season!
South Africa:
Arrival Estimates: They should start harvesting in Mid-February and arrive around mid-March.
Grapes Available from South Africa: Pinotage (only)
Juices Available from South Africa: Shiraz, Merlot, Pinotage, Cabernet Sauvignon, Semillon, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Chenin Blanc, and Sauvignon Blanc.
Fresco Juices Available from South Africa: Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Pinotage,
Chile:
Arrival Estimates: The Chilean grapes and juices should start arriving in late April, early May (similar to last year). Once the grapes are harvested we will have more details.
Grapes Available from Chile: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Carmenere, Malbec, Merlot, Petite Verdot, Pinot Noir, and Syrah.
Juices Available from Chile: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Carmenere, Malbec, Merlot, Petite Verdot, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, and Muscat.
Fresco Juices Available from Chile: Merlot, Malbec, Sauvignon Blanc, Carmenere, Viognier, Chardonnay, and Chardonnay/Semillon
Prices on both grapes and juices will be similar to last year and should be available in mid to late February. We are looking forward to seeing you – even if it’s from a distance, this spring winemaking season.
