Variety: Napa Gamay

Color: Red

Other names: Valdigue

Varietal Notes:

A clone of the Valdigue grape from France. A very reliable grape, it has high yields and ripens during usual time. This grape is great for producing Rose’s perfect for summer and deep purple fruit forward wines. It is also used to blend for color and added to produce better acidity in red wines. Carbonic maceration is usually used to produce the fruit forward nature of the wine.

*Characteristics:**					This grape is actually a "lesser" clone of Pinot Noir and was originally used in what California winemakers called Gamay Beaujolais, until it was realized that Napa Gamay is not true Gamay. The grapes are capable of producing wines of similar statue and body and other Beaujolais varieities and might very well result in interesting blends with other Rhone type varieties
*Aromas/Flavors:**					Creates a light and fruit forward wine consisting of notes of cherry blossoms and blood oranges.
Food Pairing:					Can be pared with any light summer meal. Napa Gamay can also be substituted as a light desert wine!
Aging:**					Would drink within a few years.
