Variety: Verdicchio

Varietal Notes:

This grape can be blended with up to 15% Trebbiano or Malvasia, the other major Italian whites. The high acidity of this grape makes it a potential grape for use in sparkling wines and spumante.

*Characteristics:**					Verdicchio is a white-wine grape grown mainly in Italy's Marches region where it's been cultivated since the fourteenth century. Its name is derived from the Italian word verde meaning green and refers to the skin color and the grassy greenish hue imparted to the wine. Verdicchio produces a wine that is most often crisp and dry and a light character.

Food Pairing:					Ideally pair with foods of the region that include seasoning of rosemary and fennel
